  • Eligibility to be elected to the Leadership Team;

  • Ability to rent Congregation Beth Elohim spaces for life cycle events including B’nai Mitzvah of children in any member household, subject to Altshul policy.

How is Altshul Membership different from traditional synagogue membership?

As a lay-led community, we can only thrive when everyone pitches in. Therefore, Altshul membership requires both a volunteer contribution and a financial contribution annually.

Volunteering:  Each year, every adult (18 and older) member of Altshul is required to volunteer in one of the following ways:

i) Taking on an ongoing administrative role with Altshul

ii) Volunteering during at least two Altshul events or services each year.

Financial Contribution:  Every Altshul member is also expected to make a financial contribution each year. These funds allow us to contribute to CBE annually in thanks for providing  our location, to subsidize community lunches,offer kids programming, replace our siddurim and machzors as needed, and more. As such while every member must make some financial contribution, Altshul offers a wide range of contribution levels and we encourage members to select the level at which they feel comfortable contributing.
